Before embarking on several strategic expansion and renovation projects, BayCare needed to assess its structure to ensure its design and construction team was ideally positioned to support its initiatives.
The Hammes team worked with BayCare to provide organizational assessment services, which involved assessing BayCare’s organizational structure, staff and responsibilities. A Hammes executive was later invited to serve in an interim leadership and professional service capacity until a permanent director was hired. Hammes also supported BayCare with its executive search.
In addition to executive staffing support, Hammes worked collaboratively with the BayCare team to provide project management services at the Morton Plant Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital campuses. The Morton Plant Hospital Doyle Tower contained a four-story building with a fifth-floor mechanical penthouse, approximately 230,000 SF of new construction, and renovation of existing floors.
The Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Department Expansion included 67,000 SF of new construction and renovation. Hammes also supported the Winter Haven Hospital’s 16,800 SF conversion of semi-private patient rooms to private.
BayCare later engaged Hammes to complete a comprehensive evaluation of its ambulatory strategy to gear up for entry into a new market and fulfil its goal of creating an “ambulatory site of the future,” designed to optimize and transform the patient experience.
